Almira Rexhaj
Marriage & Family Therapist Intern
A therapist intern fascinated by the stories we carry and the relationships that shape us.
With a background spanning healthcare, social work, integrative health, and marriage and family therapy, I’ve spent more than a decade alongside people during some of life’s most complicated transitions.
I’m especially interested in what happens beneath the surface: the patterns we learned growing up, the ways we connect and protect ourselves, the relationships we struggle to understand, and the parts of ourselves we may be trying to rediscover.
My work is warm, relational, and grounded, with room for both compassion and honesty. Whether you’re navigating a relationship, building a family, healing from the past, or simply wondering what’s next, The Family Within is a place to explore it.
Why Work With a Therapist Intern?
Being an intern doesn’t mean doing therapy alone. It means being part of a structured environment built around learning, supervision, feedback, and accountability.
As a Marriage & Family Therapist Intern, my clinical work is completed under supervision while I continue developing my skills through graduate-level training, consultation, and ongoing education. I have regular opportunities to bring questions, cases, and clinical decisions to experienced supervisors and receive feedback along the way.
Because I’m actively completing my clinical training, I’m also learning and integrating contemporary therapeutic approaches and evidence-informed practices as part of my education.
For some clients, the combination of affordability, close supervision, ongoing training, and a fresh perspective makes working with an intern an especially meaningful option.
You don’t have to choose between being heard and being challenged. My goal is to offer thoughtful, intentional therapy while having the support and accountability of the clinical training environment behind me.
Affordable Therapy
Therapy should feel accessible, not like another financial burden. Sessions are offered on a sliding scale of $30–$80 per session, making individual, couples, and family therapy more accessible while I complete my clinical training.
